It was one of those Tuesdays where I needed to put away a GOOD couple loads of laundry, and I found every sort of distraction that enabled me NOT to do it. I cleaned, organized, moved things around.... repainted my table legs. Normal, right? I didn't think I'd get this project started for another couple of weeks, but when I'm avoiding the clean laundry hampers (yes, that was plural), I will find any task that deems more important. So what if the hubby has to dig through the clean laundry hamper to find a pair of socks for work...this table HAS to be painted!! Yes, those were my thoughts exactly.
About two weeks ago, I posted my table inspiration on my blog and my theme is something I like to call "white chippy goodness." This was my first time distressing table legs, so please do not judge to harshly! . I think down the road I might distress it a tad more, but for now, I like how it looks.
In the late part of spring, I was in the market for a new coffee table. I'd been using an ottoman the past couple of years and yearned for something that was a little sturdier. I really loved the look of a Pottery Barn® farmhouse-inspired coffee table (see pic below) but that model was discontinued. Not to mention, I wanted the look of that Pottery Barn® coffee table, but to pay only a quarter of the price so I started a hunt on Craigslist.
